With icy-cold weather expected for the rest of the week, please take note of park district safety advisories.

Busey Woods trails are closed due to the icy conditions. The trails, especially the board walk are hazardous to walk on.

People may not walk on the ice at Crystal Lake. Water flows into the lake and serves as drainage for the surrounding area. The water is in constant motion under the ice and the park district cannot guarantee that the ice is thick enough to safely walk or skate on. 

Everyone is free to enjoy the winter beauty in our parks, but please do so safely.
