Urbana Park District is planning on building a new playground at Meadowbrook Park, and planners continue to look to the public for input.

On December 7, the park district will host a virtual Zoom session where people will be able to learn more about Meadowbrook playground plans and give their input.

Kara Dudek, Park Planner, said, "In this round of input, community members will provide thoughts on and reactions to playground idea images (swings, climbing features, zip lines, full playgrounds, etc.). They will also share thoughts on site amenities such as shade, benches, art, and landscaping."

If people can't attend the Zoom meeting live, it will be recorded and shared for future viewing.

Dudek commented, "Park district staff recognize the appreciation many community members have regarding the playground, and how hard it may be to see it replaced. We hope to have as many people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds weigh in on the process, as we work to create something inclusive, engaging and special for the next generation of children to enjoy."
