Facebook is a great tool to make connections, and Urbana Park District invites people age 50 and better to join a special Facebook page just for them.

“Our age-friendly Facebook page offers resource information provided by the Urbana Park District, community partners, and other Facebook members. This generally includes senior-centric events and opportunities throughout Champaign County,” said Jacob Johnston, Community Program and Engagement Coordinator.

Johnston will help get people up to speed with Facebook. “My office hours are always available to those who have never used Facebook and would like to learn,” Johnston explained. People can call the park district at (217) 367-1544 to set up an appointment with Johnston.

Why is Facebook good for people age 50 and better? “I think Facebook is a great way to connect with people and learn how to use apps or browse the internet,” Johnston explained.
