The Urbana and Champaign Park District are partnering for the month of October to put on the Great Pumpkin Hunt.

The hunt is free for everyone.

“We’ve hidden rocks painted like pumpkins and Halloween scenes in a select number of parks,” explained Janet Soesbe, Community Program Manager.

The park districts will provide hints, clues and riddles about where the pumpkin rocks are located. Follow the park district Facebook page for all the hints.

“Solve clues and see how many pumpkins you can find,” Soesbe said.

The hunt is for people of all ages.

Once you find a pumpkin, be sure to snap a photo of your discovery and share it to Urbana Park District’s Facebook and Instagram Accounts.

“This is a fun, community activity that gets us all in the fall spirit,” Soesbe said. “Everyone is welcome to be a pumpkin detective in October!”
