OK, parents. Do you want your kids to learn how to bake and maybe give you an evening off?

Kids ages 10 – 12 can learn those skills in a special Zoom cooking class, geared for people ages 16 and up on October 15, 29 and November 12 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Niki Hoesman, Community Program Coordinator, says the park district will deliver the ingredients to the door for each person who signs up.

“They can then cook alongside the chef in their own homes,” Hoesman explained. “We will be making baked goods and sweet treats!”

Hoesman will be leading the class. “They will be cooking alongside me during the Zoom class,” Hoesman said.

Please email Hoesman at nahoesman@urbanaparks.org if kids have any allergy concerns and she’ll work to adjust the menu.

It costs $25 for each student in Champaign-Urbana and $37 for kids outside of C-U.

Call (217) 367-1544 to register, or register online at urbanaparks.org. The deadline to register is one week before the Zoom class.

“Everyone can learn to cook, so be sure to sign your kids up for our virtual class,” Hoesman concluded.
