Urbana Park District invites parents to sign up their kids from grades 1 -12 for co-recreational indoor soccer for this October, November and December.

The season starts October 19 and runs Saturdays through December 4. All games take place at Brookens Gym.

Adults have until October 11 to register their kids. Registration costs $28 for residents and $40 for non-residents.

“We group the teams by grade level and each grade level has a specific game time,” said Kyle Mills, Athletics Coordinator.

The teams play:

• 9 – 9:55 a.m. – Grades 1 & 2
• 10 – 11:25 a.m. – Grades 3 & 4
• 11:30 a.m. – 12:55 p.m. – Grades 5 & 6
• 6 – 7:25 p.m. – Grades 7 & 8
• 7:30 – 8:55 p.m. – Grades 9 – 12

“The kids learn skills through drills,” Mills explained. “They then play games cross-court or full-court using indoor soccer ball and goals.”

The league is open for kids of all skill levels. “New and returning players can benefit from this program as they sharpen their skills and work as a team,” Mills said.

“Everyone belongs at our co-rec indoor soccer league. It is a great way to exercise indoors, play a fun sport and learn team work,” Mills concluded.
