Learn more about bird watching from a member of the Champaign County Audubon Society on February 11, at Anita Purves Nature Center. The rain date is February 18. 

"Birding Basics" runs from 8 - 10 a.m., on the 11th. Meet at the nature center and learn basic bird watching tips and learn how to identify birds. A "birder" (that's what bird watchers call themselves) will lead a discussion about native and migratory birds. 

People will then practice identifying birds before a guided bird watching walk through Busey Woods. The park district will provide binoculars, but people are encouraged to bring their own.
