People who want to build a pollinator habitat have the chance to join a virtual pollinator workshop for free on June 22, from 6-7 p.m., on Zoom.

“Is never difficult to start a garden. All you need is the love of being outside and nurturing of plants,” said Georgena Donoho, an expert gardener who will lead the Zoom workshop.

People need to register for the workshop by June 15. Call (217) 367-1544 to get the Zoom link, or register online. The workshop is free, but people need to sign up to get the Zoom link.

Participants will learn about the types of plants pollinators gravitate towards, the proper way to plant and site the garden and why we need pollinators,” Donoho explained.

People who rent apartments and condos can also build a pollinator habitat. “Small planters with the right plants can attract bees,” Donoho added.

Be sure to register before June 15, and help our pollinator friends in Urbana.
