Learn to make an Italian treat May 18 at new UPD kitchen

Urbana Park District’s new James Room Kitchen is getting put to good use and the public has the chance to learn to bake a great Italian side dish Saturday, May 18, from 2 – 4 p.m., at Phillips Recreation Center.

“Adam Wisnewski, the cooking coach from Breakfast, Life & Dinner, will teach us how to make easy focaccia and marinara on May 18,” said Janet Soesbe, Community Program Manager. “It takes around an hour to make the bread and, with Adam’s simple marinara sauce, people can make a very popular dish.”

It costs $33 for residents to register and $42 for non-residents to register.

“We hope people take advantage of this new kitchen and learn how to make popular dishes. And, people should follow us online, and on social media to learn about more cooking programs this summer,” Soesbe said.
