Urbana Park District hopes the public will take a walk in one of our parks all week. October 10 is National Walk to a Park Day, but Urbana parks are open seven days a week.
Visiting parks has so many mental and physical benefits including reduced stress, social interaction, and improved health,” said Kara Dudek-Mizel, Park Planner. She continued, “In the last two years, we’ve seen how important it is for people to get outside, exercise, move, and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful sites of parks.”
Trust for Public Land is leading National Walk to a Park Day. People who take a walk to parks from now until October 10, can take a photo of their walks and share on social media, tagged #10MinuteWalk #WalkToAParkDay.
“We invite people to celebrate Walk to a Park Day, and enjoy our parks every day,” Dudek-Mizel concluded.
