The Urbana Park District and the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois are pleased to offer a series of free, family friendly community programs this August that focus on pollinators.

The following free events are: 

• Birds: Saturday, August 12, 8–10am (rain date August 13)
• Bees: Saturday, August 19, 10am–12pm (rain date August 20)
• Bats: Saturday, August 26, 7–9pm (rain date August 27)

Each event features:

• Talk: Enjoy a presentation from local experts with information about local wildlife, what to look for, and how you can support their healthy coexistence with our community.
• Walk: Join a guided exploration of Busey Woods/Crystal Lake Park to see, hear, identify, and learn about local species.
• Snack: Enjoy complimentary snacks inspired by the diets and natural history of the featured animals.
• Craft: Participate in a craft project that you can take home to support our local wildlife populations.
