Urbana Park District is giving people a chance to get fit over the Noon hour at Brookens Gym.
People are free to use Flexi Passes to attend the Boot Camp or H.I.I.T Revolution.
Boot camp runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12–12:50 p.m., and H.I.I.T Revolution runs Tuesday and Thursday from 12–12:50 p.m.
“Boot camp is a great class if you are looking to burn calories over your lunch hour,” said Ashley Dennis, Outreach and Wellness Coordinator. “It is a fun and engaging class for any fitness level.”
Dennis added, “H.I.I.T., stands for High Intensity Interval Training. It incorporates moderate to intense intervals of exercise followed by short periods of rest. This class will use a variety of equipment and your own body weight to improve metabolism, cardiovascular fitness and athletic ability.”
Classes are now underway through mid-August. While registration is closed, people can still take part thanks to a special pass. “Flexi Passes are a great way to sample our fitness classes. People can then decide if they want to sign up for a full session of classes in the fall,” Dennis explained.
Call Phillips Recreation Center at (217) 367-1544 to purchase a Flexi Pass.
“Everyone is welcome in our fitness classes regardless of fitness level. We always adjust exercises to meet people where they are,” Dennis concluded.
