We're fixing the South Ridge Park Trail Loop

And, we want to hear from you!

The Urbana Park District is preparing to rehabilitate the 0.65 mi loop trail located at South Ridge Park. The trail is over 30 years old and has been repaired many times but it is now time for a complete replacement. The district is actively engaged in the application process for funding from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources' Recreational Trails Program. We are anticipating applying for the grant this year and are looking at construction beginning in 2025.

The Urbana Park District is surveying neighbors to get a better understanding of what type of loop trail and trail amenities they would like to see included in this project. We are currently evaluating two options we would like to get feedback on.
