Urbana Park District invites everyone ages 15 and up to our free Health and Sustainability Workshop Series.

Each workshop is free, but people need to sign up so the park district knows how many people are coming.

Here are the following workshops:

  • March 25 - Climate Fresk Workshop, The Lakehouse in Crystal Lake Park, 1 - 4 p.m.
  • April 15 - Bicycle Tune-up Workshop, Phillips Recreation Center, 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.
  • May 6 - Composting Practices and Methods, Anita Purves Nature Center, 10 a.m. - Noon.

Climate Fresk makes it possible in a short time to understand the functioning of the climate system as well as the causes and consequences of its disruption. Participating in this workshop raises awareness on the complexity of climate change.

In the bike workshop, learn about proper tire pressure, how to fix a flat tire, adjusting brakes, weight distribution, and more with the University of Illinois Campus Bike Center.

For the composting workshop, learn about home composting, troubleshooting, soil health, and available resources with Courtney Kwong, City of Urbana Recycling Coordinator.

All of these workshops are FREE, but please call the park district at (217) 384-4062 to sign up.

Please sign up a week prior to each workshop.

All over age 15 are welcome to one or all workshops!
