Recycling front and center November 3

People can learn more about recycling, trade their Halloween costumes and compost their pumpkins on Saturday, November 3, at the Anita Purves Nature Center.

Urbana Park District is taking part in American Recycles Day. The free event at Anita Purves Nature Center runs from 1-4 p.m.

"People can bring their pumpkins and Jack-o-Lanterns for composting," said Savannah Donovan, Environmental Public Program Coordinator at Anita Purves Nature Center.

She continued, "People can also bring in their costumes in exchange for others. We’ll also have kids make autumn-themed crafts using recycled products."

People can also make their own craft using recycled materials at home, bring the craft to the November 3, event and possibly win a prize.

For more information, please call Anita Purves Nature Center at (217) 384-4062.

"Recycling is for everyone and people belong at American Recycles Day on November 3," Donovan said.
