There are still slots to sign up for swimming lessons this winter and early spring at Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center. 

The next round of lessons start January 31 with a registration deadline of January 24.

"We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced swimming lessons," said Leslie Radice, Aquatics Manager. She added, "We also offer 'Toddler and Me' swim lessons for kids ages 6 - 18 months. They learn to be in water with the assistance of their adult."

Instructors and supervisors will evaluate students and place them in the appropriate level. Newcomers will be tested and placed in the proper class.

There are swimming lessons sessions from January through April. People can call Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center at (217) 384 - 7665. Or, they can email Aquatics Supervisor, Jennifer Nierenhausen. 

"Winter is a great time to learn to swim. It's a fun activity for kids in cold weather and they can be ready to swim this coming summer," Radice concluded.
