Kids in grades 3 – 8 can learn and play basketball this winter at Urbana Park District.
“This is a great way for kids to learn basketball skills, teamwork and have fun,” said Kyle Mills, Athletics Supervisor.
Practices are weekday evenings and games are on Saturdays at Brookens Gym or Leonard Recreation Center.
Sign up by December 31, and get a special discount - $40 for residents and $52 for non-residents.
Register online, or call the park district at (217) 367-1544 to sign up.
“We will have a mandatory skills assessment for grades 5 – 8, on Saturday, January 8, at Brookens Gym,” Mills said. He added, “After the assessment, we will make teams.”
Practices begin January 17, and practices and games run through March 19.
Mills commented, “We hope to see all kids who want to learn basketball and play the game sign up for Youth Basketball this winter. It is a great way to stay active in cold weather, learn new skills and make new friends.”
