An Urbana Park District holiday tradition returns this year.

Everyone can participate in Candy House Creations from the comfort and safety of their own home.

“We are excited to still offer the opportunity for folks to craft their very own candy house to get in the spirit of the season,” said Niki Hoesman, Community Program Coordinator.

People can sign up to create a candy house until November 28. It costs $15 per house.

“For each registration, you will get enough materials for one candy house, so be sure to register each person who wants to craft a sweet treat,” Hoesman added.

Usually, people make their Candy House Creations at Urbana Park District, but due to covid-19, this year people will make their creations at home.

Once registered, people can pick up their candy house supplies at Phillips Recreation Center on December 4, from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., and on December 5 from 8 a.m. – Noon.

People can email their photos to the Park District and enter to win a prize.

If people need an alternate time to pick up their supplies, please email Niki at nahoesman@urbanaparks.org.

Hoesman concluded, “I hope that folks can have an afternoon of fun with people that they care about while making their candy houses.”
