A fun, free tradition returns to Urbana Park District this spring as Sunday Morning Bird Walks are back.
Join bird watchers each Sunday at Anita Purves Nature Center at 7:30 a.m. Bird watching experts from the Champaign County Audubon Society, will lead the walks through Busey Woods and Crystal Lake Park. The bird walks are over by 9 a.m.
Spring is a great time to watch birds as several are migrating north and stop overnight in Busey Woods.
Everyone is welcome (under age 15 accompanied by an adult). Please bring binoculars. People can borrow a pair from Anita Purves Nature Center but need to make arrangements the week before the walk.
People should call the nature center at (217) 384-4062 if they have questions or need to arrange a pair of binoculars.
The bird walks are free and there is no registration required. Just show up Sundays at 7:30 a.m., at the nature center and be ready to spot and identify our feathered friends!
