Take time out for some self-care this spring

Everyone needs to take some time out for some self-care. In the past year, covid-19 has presented unique challenges to teens.

Urbana Park District of offering a free, virtual, self-care program every Tuesday from March 23 to April 27. Each session will run from 4 – 5 p.m., on Zoom.

The program is for people ages 13 – 18.

Even though the program is free, people still need to sign up to get the Zoom link. Once they register, the park district will deliver journals, local spa products, inspirational books, art activities, and more to each house. Then, each Tuesday, people will meet on Zoom to support self-care.

People can register online, or call the park district at (217) 367-1544.

“I hope that folks will leave this program feeling a sense of empowerment and with a better understanding of how to care for their mental health. It is so important to take time for yourself and engage in habits and activities that make you happy,” said Niki Hoesman, Community Program Coordinator.
