It takes many things to put on a successful athletic program at Urbana Park District. One of those things is to find referees and umpires. Those officials make sure players are safe and play within the rules.
“We’re always looking for people age 16 and older to officiate our sports,” said Kyle Mills, Athletics Supervisor. “Officials not only keep the games under control and fair, they help teach our kids sportsmanship and the rules of the game.”
The Park District needs referees and umpires for:
- Youth Soccer
- Youth Basketball
- Youth baseball/softball
- Adult kickball
“People can earn between $12 and $50 per hour working games. Pay varies with age of competition and sport,” Mills explained.
“People can call me at (217) 255-8601 for more information or apply online to be an official,” Mills said. “We need you to keep up the high-quality of our athletic programs.”
