The Urbana Park District and Clark Lindsey want people age 50 and better to celebrate this week and know that they belong in our community.

This week is Celebrate Aging Week put on by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA). Urbana Park District and Clark Lindsey are teaming up to celebrate our seniors.

"Since its conception, Celebrate Aging Week events have advocated for healthier, more active lifestyles in adults over 50, and seeks to challenge society's diminished expectations of aging," said Jacob Johnston, Age-Friendly Resource Specialist for Urbana Park District and Clark Lindsey. "Each day of the week will revolve around a wellness-related theme."

A few highlights of the week are:

• Outdoor movie and game night
• Zumba Gold
• Trivia night
• Job fair
• Clark Lindsey block party

"Our neighbors 50 and better want to be a part of the community and we want them, and everyone, to know that we want them active and contributing," Johnston said. He concluded, "We love our age-friendly neighbors and we want them to know they belong."
